With a love for baking since the eighth grade, Adriann Spinks Glunz had always dreamed of owning her own bakery. Throughout college Glunz started experimenting with old family recipes, trying put her own healthier spin on them. Glunz and her husband Ryan, opened Be Well Bakery & Café in 2012, determined to share fresh and vibrant flavors with their customers and community.

Starting with a craving for a warm donut in a small town, founder Russell A. DiGilio opened the first Duck Donuts in Duck, North Carolina in 2007. Hatboro

Originally starting over 70 years ago in Philadelphia, Lochel’s Bakery has been through some harder times. On Labor Day 1995, the family run bakery’s store in Levittown caught fire, destroying almost everything. Now in Hatboro, every product in made from scratch daily by the family or a skilled baker. The dedication of the family and their joy for the craft has led them to win the title of “Sweetest Bakery in America” in 2017.

Souderton

With one of the largest lines of Sugar-free chocolates in the country, Asher’s Chocolate has been making all types of fine chocolates since 1892. Order online or check out their Souderton retail store with chocolate covered treats and different types of chocolate like dark chocolate, gluten free, kosher, milk, white, and sugar free.

Pottstown

For over 40 years Beverly’s Pastry Shop has been creating local favorites like their signature strawberry torte. Their goal is to see that smile creep onto customer’s faces after that first bite. Beverly’s also takes special orders for those with allergies and remains conscious of the ingredients that go into their goods.

Audubon

The idea of starting a business came first for Marty and Melanie Low, but what kind of business? They decided to create something they both loved; ice cream. Marty then travelled the country in search of the best ice cream and then went to ice cream schooling while Melanie learned to make European style chocolates in Montreal. Named after Melanie’s great-great grandfather, Zwahlen’s was born and made to look like a Swiss Chalet selling rich ice creams, crepes, and chocolates.

Jenkintown

Husband and wife, Ryan and Christina, opened Sweet Escape Cupcakery to share delicious desserts and treats with the community. With family recipes that have been passed down through generations, enjoy traditional flavors alongside cupcakes like Chunky Monkey, Georgia Peach, and Apple Pie.

With their recent grand re-opening in March 2018, Village Treats’ new owners Marla and Tommy Kaine have been immersed in the community for years, meeting each other on a blind date in Narberth they wanted to help people create their own little magical memories. Village Treats offers Bassett’s Ice Cream and Little Baby’s non-dairy, 100% vegan ice cream along with shakes, sundaes, floats, custom ice cream cakes, and fresh baked good

Bryn Mawr

Originally focused on perfecting cookies and pie, The Bakery House has expanded since 1989 into a full bakery. Offering specialty cakes, cupcakes, pies, cookies, and more with gluten free and vegan options the Bakery House is determined to not only create delicious treats but give customers and warm and welcoming experience. They also offer special holiday menus along with weddings.
