Take a walk through a pumpkin patch, make your own scarecrow or hop aboard a hayride this fall in Valley Forge and Montgomery County, Pa. Here's a look at some of the best Halloween activities for family fun this year:

BOO AT THE ZOO

October 7- 29 (Weekends Only)
Elmwood Park Zoo

Bring your little ghouls and ghosts to this annual Halloween haunt, where the entire zoo is transformed for a kooky, spooky Halloween celebration! Come dressed in your most creative costume and march in the costume parade. Adults are encouraged to dress up, too! And don’t forget to bring your trick-or-treat bag, as treat and activity stations will be located throughout the zoo. Tickets required. 

Witches of Narberth

WITCHES OF NARBERTH

Narberth

Downtown Narberth welcomes children for a not-so-scary afternoon during Witches of Narberth. Kids and parents are invited to a scavenger hunt as they travel from business to business looking for witches. Kids will receive treats along the way, and a special Halloween prize at the end of the hunt. Children of all ages are invited to join this free event. Costumes are certainly welcome, but totally optional.

Legoland Discovery Center 

This Halloween, the LEGO® Monsters have taken over LEGOLAND Discovery Center Philadelphia and they’re throwing an awesome Brick or Treat Monster Party! Be amongst the first to watch the BRAND NEW 4D LEGO® Movie, ‘The Great Monster Chase’ exclusive to LEGOLAND®, build a LEGO® pumpkin to plant in the Pumpkin Patch, join the LEGO® Playmakers in the Fun Hub for Monster games and giggles, and much more!

Haunted Hayride

October 7
Green Lane Park

Bring the family out to experience a “Haunted Hayride” through this “spooktacular” campground. In addition to the hayride, this free event will feature kids’ crafts, refreshments and entertainment by DJ David Boice. This is a free event, and meets at the Deep Creek Area of Green Lane Park. 

All Hallows Eve Fall Festival

October 21
Pennypacker Mills

Spend a beautiful fall day at the Mills, where kids can paint a pumpkin, make fall kid-crafts, press apples to make cider and corn shucking. The whole family can enjoy a hayride around the meadow. All ages. Free.
