KING OF PRUSSIA, PA – Since travelers traditionally begin planning vacations during the winter months, the Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board (VFTCB) took the opportunity to debut its brand-new winter TV campaign to hopefully help inspire overnight trips to Montgomery County, PA.

Promoting the nonprofit organization’s #MakeItMontco Winter Hotel Package (www.makeitmontco.com), the commercial – produced along with [ 2 one 5 ] Creative – encourages visitors to plan their winter staycation in Montco this season with a play on the word “make” from the campaign’s title.

Through the video, viewers can see how to make their weekend in Montco. For example:

  • Make history at Valley Forge National Historical Park
  • Make believe at LEGOLAND Discovery Center in Plymouth Meeting
  • Make a statement at King of Prussia Mall
  • Make a splash at indoor hotel pools
  • Make some noise during a concert at the Keswick Theatre, one of Montco’s 200 arts and culture venues

Visitors can also make it neat, or a mess, at Montgomery County’s more than 30 Montco Makers – award-winning breweries, wineries, and distilleries – and, make room for more at one of the county’s 1,600 restaurants.

“This new campaign not only builds awareness for our hotel package, but also highlights the wide variety of things there are to do and see – even in the winter months – right here in Montgomery County,” said Mike Bowman, President & CEO of the VFTCB. “Montco is so easily accessible, and the perfect location for a getaway. Plus, we’ve done all the planning for you! So, whether a couple looking for a romantic escape, or a family wanting a weekend filled with fun, there are plenty of reasons for folks to #MakeItMontco!”

The board partnered with a record 37 local businesses and attractions to create the 2020 Winter Hotel Package granting guests access to a coupon booklet filled with a wide variety of exclusive savings – a $350 value with $99 hotel deals – at the best restaurants, entertainment and premiere attractions when they book a stay at any participating Montgomery County hotel.

The hotel package runs through April 22nd, 2020. The aggressive winter-long marketing strategy includes television, radio, digital, regional print ads, and out-of-home targeting the Philadelphia, South Jersey, Harrisburg, Lancaster, Lebanon, and York markets in an effort to increase hotel stays for people visiting Montgomery County through Easter.

The new spot can also be seen on the VFTCB’s brand-new video microsite, Go Montco, https://www.valleyforge.org/go-montco/.

In addition to the debuted commercial, and video microsite, the VFTCB also re-launched two updated versions of its apps: the Visit Valley Forge App, and the Montco Makers app.

The free mobile Visit Valley Forge app is a hand-held guide to all of the organization’s website information about the best attractions, restaurants, entertainment, and even itineraries, special offers, maps, and events in Montgomery County for vacationers, business travelers, or those attending a sports tournament.

The VFTCB also launched an all-new annual Montco Makers rewards program where app users can earn prizes and swag like exclusive digital content, and discounts by checking-in at the county’s breweries, wineries, and distilleries.
