Haunted Hikes

Halloween Night Hikes at Perkiomen Watershed Conservancy - Schwenksville, Oct. 18 (Rugged Loop) & 19 (Family Loop) , 5-7 p.m.

Get in the Halloween spirit and join the Perkiomen Watershed Conservancy for one of their annual Halloween Night Hikes! The Rugged Loop requires a flashlight or headlamp and your best hiking shoes as you venture through tricky terrain and enjoy a spooky night in the woods. Costumes are encouraged on the Family Loop, where you’ll learn about nocturnal animals along a guided luminary walk. After either hike, reward yourself with a s'more or two by the campfire. Tickets are required to attend.

*Note: The Rugged Loop is not for young children, and the trail is not stroller-safe. The Family Loop is stroller-friendly, and all ages are welcome.

Historical Haunts

Ghost Stories by the Fire - Fort Washington, Oct. 5, 6:30 p.m.

Gather around the campfire at Pennypacker Mills and kick off the spooky season with ghost stories dramatically retold by author Charles Adams III. Bring a chair or blanket to sit on. Recommended for ages 13 and above. The event is free to attend.

 

Halloween Lantern Tour at Hope Lodge - Fort Washington, Oct. 26, 6 - 9 p.m.

Enjoy an immersive tour of the Hope Lodge grounds and learn some American Revolution-era history while experiencing a one-of-a-kind adventure. This year’s theme is A Spy Amongst Us. Over the course of the tour, guests will expose a British spy and be part of their investigation and trial. Tickets are required to attend.

Elk's Haunted Lodge - Bridgeport, Every Saturday in October, 6:30 - 11 p.m.

Known to be one of the spookiest places in Bridgeport, the Haunted Lodge isn't for the faint of heart. We recommend visiting if you're up for a spooktacular Saturday night. Tickets are required to attend.

 

Darkly Departed at Laurel Hill West - Bala Cynwyd, October 20, 10 - 11:30 a.m.

Sometimes the dearly departed are darkly departed. Join tour guide, Sarah Hamill, for a walking tour to uncover those interred in the cemetery who took a darker path to the great beyond, whether by murder, mystery, or tragedy. Meet killers and their victims, beheaded train passengers, and a witch who promised to return from the dead. Meet those who embezzle, others who drowned, and sisters nicknamed Vampire and Viper. Not everyone buried at Laurel Hill West is resting in peace. Come along to uncover their dark past. Tickets are required to attend.

 

Take a Day Trip to Historic Graeme Park - Horsham, Friday - Sunday, hours vary

Ask any Horsham resident, and they will tell you that the Keith House at Graeme Park is Horsham's most haunted historical home. Click here to learn more about the history and haunts of the Keith House. Visit the tranquil grounds, and then keep an eye out for Elizabeth Graeme Fergusson’s ghost as you take a guided tour of Keith House. Admission charged for the tour.

 

A Walk Among the Graeme Ghosts - Horsham, October 11 & 18

Step inside the ghost story, and explore the haunted halls of Graeme Park. Over 300 years of spirits are active on the property, and as the veil thins between the spirit world and our own, the staff and volunteers cannot control the ghost activity on site.

This year, we invite you to step inside the spirit realm. Join site staff and a hired medium to spend time in the museum after night fall. Maybe you can finally put the spirits to rest…

Visit Selma Mansion, Norristown. Check website for dates.

In addition to being one of the oldest homes in Norristown, Selma Mansion is widely considered to be one of the most haunted. Every fall, this historic property opens its doors to the public for a series of spooky events, which typically include a Psychic Fair (Sept. 21, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.), Candlelight Ghost Tours, and the Best Haunted House Ever. Tickets required to attend.

Spooky Excursions

31st Annual Haunted Hayride - Tylersport Fire Hall, Oct. 11, 12, 18, 19, 7-10 p.m.

Your wildest nightmares will come true as you journey through haunted fields and woods. After your ride, enjoy complimentary apple cider and roast marshmallows by the fire. Tickets are required to attend. Children under 5 are free.

 

The 7th Annual Haunted Campground Hayride - Green Lane Park, Oct. 12, 5:30-9:30 p.m.

The free haunted campground hayride returns to Green Lane Park for the 7th year! Parking is free for all guests. Rain date is Oct. 13.

 

The Haunted Hayride in the Parkway - Whitehall, every Friday & Saturday in Oct starting Sept. 30 7-11 p.m.

Ready for a boo or two? Join the Whitehall Active Volunteer Fire Department for a night of thrills, chills and frights! Tickets are required to attend. Children under 5 are free.

Horror Movies Trivia at Workhorse Brewing - King of Prussia, Oct. 2, 6:30 p.m.

Bring your friends and family for a night a spooky trivia in King of Prussia! Trivia kicks off at 6:30 p.m.

 

All Hallows Eve Fall Festival - Schwenksville, Oct. 19

Enjoy a FREE afternoon of old-fashioned fall fun as kids make crafts, paint pumpkins, shuck corn, and press apples into cider. The whole family is welcome to play games, complete a scavenger hunt, and take a hayride around the meadow of Pennypacker Mills.

 

BOOPORT Halloween Parade - Bridgeport Borough, Oct. 19

Join us for the spookiest Halloween parade in Montco! The parade will take place on Mill Street, so come dressed in your favorite costumes. Expect floats, candy, music, characters, and some surprise guests for extra fun! We’ll be hosting four exciting contests: Best Float, Best Kids' Costume, Best Adult Costume, Best Decorated Business, Best Decorated Home, and Best Pumpkin Carving/Painting.

Once the parade wraps up, head over to the Bridgeport Borough parking lot for a festive party featuring a magic show, face painting, bouncy houses, a Halloween vendor market, kids' activities, food, and more! 

It's Alive Halloween Themed Escape Room - Escape Trappe, Open Daily until Oct. 31

Test your courage and wit against a fiendish array of mysteries, challenges and puzzles inside our newest game - it's jam-packed with escape room goodness and Halloween fun!
