Explore Valley Forge Park

Valley Forge Park Cabins Fall

Visit Valley Forge National Historical Park, where General Washington and his Continental Army stayed during the long winter of 1777-78. Today, the park extends over 3,500 acres of rolling hills and is home to 20 miles of trails. 

Journey through history as you walk past Washington’s stone headquarters, renovated log huts, and countless monuments, including the United States National Memorial Arch.

Spring Mountain

There’s plenty of family fun to be had in Montco! 

One of the area’s top-rated family-friendly attractions is the Elmwood Park Zoo, where visitors can hand-feed towering, majestic giraffes and bison and ride a wildlife-themed carousel. Or check out Legoland Discovery Center in Plymouth Meeting and explore Miniland - a LEGO replica of Philadelphia made of 1.5 Million LEGO bricks! 

Another top spot is Spring Mountain Adventures, where you and the kids can enjoy outdoor activities year-round, like skiing and snowboarding in the wintertime.

Journey Through Historic Sites

Peter Wentz Farmstead

Given its rich history, Montco is home to countless historical sites like Pottsgrove Manor, a Georgian mansion from 1752, Pennypacker Mills, and the Peter Wentz Farmstead. In Skippack, check out the Indenhofen House, one of the oldest farmsteads in Pennsylvania. While in the area, be sure to visit Historic Trappe. Historic Trappe has many historic sites for you to explore, including the Muhlenberg House, the Speaker's House, and Dewees Tavern. Also worth a visit is the Bryn Athyn Historic District with its towering Gothic cathedral, the castle-like Glencairn museum, and many gorgeous gardens.

Green Lane

Plenty of outdoor adventures await you in Montco, home to almost 90 miles of hiking trails.

Here you can walk or bike the trails, go horseback riding in Valley Forge Park, canoe or kayak down the Schuylkill River, or go for a pontoon boat ride at the scenic Green Lane Park

The Centre Theater

In Montco, you’ll find a bustling arts and culture scene, with more than 200 music venues, theaters, museums, and galleries.

Must-see attractions include The Centre Theater, the Berman Museum of Art, the Mennonite Heritage Center, and the award-winning Act II Playhouse, which hosts incredible performances as well as improv and comedy classes.
