Montgomery County proudly honors and celebrates Juneteenth, a national holiday celebrating the emancipation of those who had been enslaved in the southern United States. We invite you to join us, here in Montgomery County, on and around the June 19th holiday as our communities gear up for a day of equal observation and celebration this Juneteenth.
Juneteenth Flag Raising Ceremony
Montgomery County Courthouse, Norristown | Mon. June 16th | 10 - 11 a.m.
To observe Juneteenth celebrations, the Montgomery County Courthouse will hold a special ceremony to raise the official Juneteenth flag.
Forgotten History Tours
Pottsgrove Manor, Pottstown | Fri. June 21 & 22 | During Regular Museum Hours
Juneteenth at Pottsgrove Manor features special Black History themed tours. See the Manor through the eyes of the free and enslaved individuals who lived and labored in the Potts family households and iron industry. Learn their names and hear their stories.

Juneteenth Jubilee Street Festival

Norristown's Juneteenth Jubilee is surely where you'll want to be on June 19th. Festivities will include Live Entertainment, Vendors, Food & Drinks, Art Show, Kids Zone, Living History reenactment at Center Theater, and more!
Pottstown Juneteenth Community Celebration
Pottstown | Sat. June 14th | 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Enjoy music, basketball, face painting, dance, and storytelling. Explore Black history exhibits, admire motorcycles and cars, and join in kids' activities. Special guests and vendors will be there too! Celebrate freedom and community together this June!
Juneteenth Tours at the Peter Wentz Farmstead
Peter Wentz Farmstead | Sat. June 21 | 10 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Celebrate Juneteenth at the Peter Wentz Farmstead! Join special tours focusing on the lives of enslaved individuals connected to the Wentz family and Pennsylvania's history of slavery. Learn about escape attempts, and hear stories of Hannah Till and William Lee, brought here with General George Washington. Register for free timed tickets, recommended for visitors 13 and older.
