As the holiday season approaches, we’re reminded of the comfort of gathering around a table filled with food. But for thousands of families in Montgomery County, that comfort isn’t guaranteed. This Giving Tuesday, December 2, you can make a real difference by supporting the Valley Forge Freedom from Hunger Drive.

Why Your Support Matters

This fall’s delays in SNAP benefits (food stamps) revealed just how fragile food security is for many of our neighbors. Local food pantries saw longer lines and new faces, and the MontCo Anti-Hunger Network worked tirelessly to provide emergency support. While SNAP benefits have resumed, the challenges are far from over:

  • Pantry visits are expected to rise in 2026.
  • Funding cuts have reduced food supplies to local food banks.
  • Long-term SNAP changes mean thousands will have less money for groceries.

These realities make this Giving Tuesday more important than ever.

Your Gift Fights Hunger

Every donation strengthens the MontCo Anti-Hunger Network, helping pantries across Montgomery County, PA serve families in need. And here’s the impact your gift can make:
Per NoKidHungry.org, every dollar donated can provide seven meals—or 12 pounds of food—by purchasing in bulk for families in need.

Your contribution ensures that no neighbor has to wonder where their next meal will come from.

As you plan your Giving Tuesday contributions, please consider supporting the Valley Forge Freedom from Hunger Drive. Together, we can build a stronger, more resilient pantry network for the year ahead.

From all of us at Valley Forge, thank you for your generosity—and we wish you and your family a warm and wonderful Thanksgiving.
