Dining al fresco is a great way to safely enjoy Montgomery County, PA’s culinary scene this summer!
While restaurants are open with limited capacity, many are still offering curbside pick-up, and featuring spaced-apart indoor and outdoor seating.
Please check with each establishment about any restrictions and requirements, and follow state guidelines here, as those may change. Masks may be required to be worn to your table before enjoying your food in many establishments, and facilities.
The Joseph Ambler Inn has opened their pub, inn, and banquet facilities to the public, and are taking precautions for their staff to deliver a safe, sanitary facility, while committing to providing a clean, and safe environment for guests and employees. Try their new vegetarian Panko-fried avocado spears or Penne Pasta Primavera.
Steel City Coffeehouse is open for indoor, and outdoor dining. They have a QR code on their indoor and outdoor tables for easier ordering, and to avoid customers gathering at their service counter. Get your coffee, kombucha, brownies, muffins, vegan scones, egg sandwiches, flatbreads, burritos, and more. Steel City is also continuing their online curbside pickup.
“We have removed more than half of our seating and only made tables with up to four chairs,” said Laura Vernola, co-owner. “Guests are not allowed to move the tables or add chairs for a fifth or sixth guest. We also have designated areas for guests to stand that keeps them six feet apart, and we will continue to use takeout cups and containers though the next phase.”
Vernola said Steel City Coffeehouse will resume Open Mic on Thursdays with a limited number of players and listeners inside, and a speaker outside for those dining along Bridge Street.
“Our staff are rock stars wearing masks six to eight hours a day, wiping down door handles, tables, bathrooms and register - all while keeping their hospitality at 100%,” she said. “We are ready to serve everyone! After being closed for over 3 months, we realize how lucky we are to be able to reopen, as this won’t be the case with all small businesses.”
The staff at Bernie's Restaurant & Bar in Hatboro is excited to be open for diners! They’ve masked up and are serving the latest: The Marie Pizza with roasted mushrooms, mozzarella, parmesan, grape tomatoes, and garlic scape pesto, where the garlic is grown fresh at their farm!
Chow Bistro in Collegeville is open for curbside pickup and outdoor dining. Please call to make a reservation for their indoor dining room limited seating. Enjoy fresh summer American cuisine, especially their salads, crab cakes, short ribs, and seafood pasta.
The Trappe Tavern is famous for outdoor dining on their fabulous deck, so don’t miss their drink specials (like slushies), and food specials, some of which include crab legs, ribs, chicken, seafood, and more. You can dine indoors as well, where co-owner Dave Duryea says they are religiously following safety guidelines.
“We’ve gotten positive feedback from customers. We are happy to see everyone, and our patrons understand the changes we make,” he said. “We are using QR codes to view the menus on smartphones, or using paper menus. Our servers wear masks. We have hand sanitizer stations around the property and keep cross-traffic to a minimum. Plus, we encourage takeout if customers do not wish to eat indoors or outdoors.”
You can get their beverages (like their famous Orange Crush!) to go, even enjoy them outside while waiting for a table, like a mini-tailgate, and enjoy the sunshine. There is a 2-hour time limit on tables, so for items such as the All You Can Eat Crabs Legs, the menu item has changes to 2 pounds for $35.99 with coleslaw and French fries.
In Pottstown, Giovanni's 724 Restaurant’s gorgeous outdoor patio is open, as well as for takeout and curbside. Reservations are not needed for outside dining. Brick-oven pizzas, burgers, fries, and try the homemade calamari or hand-breaded locally grown zucchini. And don’t miss their summer-inspired desserts like Gelatina.

Creekside Sports Bar, located in the Landis Creek Golf Club in Royersford, is open for outdoor dining. Grab a bite after golf and enjoy some fresh air and live music (some days). Reservations are not required, but strongly suggested. They are doing takeout drinks and food, too!
Sessano at Raven’s Claw Golf Club is thrilled to have outdoor dining on their deck, with their popular bar menu, and sandwiches from the grill. Get in a round and relax for a meal.
The Club at Shannondell offers golf, plus Chadwick’s Restaurant & Bar for indoor and outdoor patio dining for lunch, dinner and spectacular views.
