For many great artists, Montgomery County, Pa., is home. You can visit many of these artists in their studios and galleries throughout Montco. Here are a few of our favorites:
ABINGTON ART CENTER
The Abington Art Center is one of the premier arts destination in Montco. Browse the rotating galleries inside historic manor house, meet the artists during the center's Coffee Break Conversations, or explore the 27-acre campus' outdoor sculpture garden.
GREEN WOLF'S VILLAGE BARN SHOPPES
Green Wolf's Village Barn features six one-of-a-kind shops plus a rotating art gallery. Each month, a different local artist is featured in the gallery. And on most weekends, you can meet the artist and even see them at their craft.
MONTGOMERY COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE - CENTRAL CAMPUS
Montgomery County Community College's Central Campus is home to the school's Fine Arts building and an impressive gallery space. Here, the next generation of artists display their works alongside faculty, alumni and noted artists from across the region.
MONTGOMERY COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE - WEST CAMPUS
The Fine Arts Gallery at Montgomery County Community College's West Campus is another impressive space, housing rotating exhibits from the school's budding artists and the best that Montgomery County has to offer.
THE WEST COLLECTION AT SEI
The Oaks campus of SEI isn't just for the financial firm's employees. The grounds are also home to the West Collection, with more than 1,500 works installed and on display at any time. Tours are available by request.
TAYLOR BACKES GLASS
Just across the county line in Boyertown, Berks County, is one of the finest glass art studios in the country: Taylor Backes Glass. The studio's incredible art glass can be seen on display at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Corning Museum of Glass, the Smithsonian Institute, and at their Boyertown studio and gallery.
WAYNE ART CENTER
Wayne Art Center is the premier art center on the Main Line. The center features four galleries with rotating exhibits, four painting studios, ceramics and jewerly studios, two gallery stores, and a state-of-the-art kitchen for the art center's slate of culinary classes.
MONTGOMERY COUNTY STUDIO TOUR
In 2017, 51 artists and 20 studios across Montgomery County joined together for the first annual Montgomery County Studio Tour. The participants’ works stretch across all sectors, including sculpture, oils, watercolors, and photography.
