KING OF PRUSSIA, PA – The Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board (VFTCB) wants visitors to relax and cool off in Montco this summer.
And, the organization is making it easier than ever to plan a summer getaway to Montgomery County.
The VFTCB’s #MakeItMontco Summer Hotel Package does the planning for guests by providing incredible deals on the best restaurants, entertainment, and attractions – including discounts to see Cirque du Soleil’s VOLTA show under the Big Top on the grounds of the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center at Oaks – when they book their next overnight stay in participating Montco hotels.
Running June 1 through Labor Day, the bundle welcomes visitors in peak tourism season, and features a wide range of 19 offers – a record number – and more than 10 hotels to choose from, plus a deal on rides with Lyft!
To drive awareness for the hotel package, the VFTCB created a brand-new coupon booklet, and worked with 20/20 Visual Media on a series of social media videos featuring area mascots:
Besides hotel promotions and iconic Montco staples that new audiences outside the area can discover – such as the popular Keswick Theatre – the campaign also highlights VIP discounts at newer attractions, events, and restaurants in Montco like 5 Wits in Plymouth Meeting Mall, Cirque du Soleil’s VOLTA show, and Mission BBQ.
“We’ve got a record number of members coming together to help encourage people to visit Montgomery County this season, so this is going to be Montco’s best summer yet!” said Edward Harris, VFTCB Chief Marketing Officer. “There’s always so much to do and see here, but summertime is definitely a favorite for folks to #MakeItMontco. This package just takes it up a notch, and makes for a perfect weekend filled with family fun, or even a romantic getaway. Whether you like attractions, shopping, entertainment, or dining, we’ve got the perfect escape!”
The VFTCB is putting strong marketing behind the package.
Besides placement on digital billboards, a heavy push on social media, and radio announcements in the Baltimore, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, and New Jersey markets, the VFTCB is expanding to marketing to Boston for the first time.
The organization is also partnering with Carvertise, an agency that uses car-wrap advertising, in Washington D.C., where billboards aren’t permitted – another first for the organization – and an unconventional and unique way to promote the campaign.
Whether it’s raining, hot and humid, or not, the idea of the package is for people to experience family fun, shopping, entertainment, dining, and transportation all while they stay in Valley Forge and Montgomery County.
