DCP’s Family Theatre Presents The Giver
by Eric Coble
Directed by Chris McBreen

“The memories tell us it has not always been this way.
People felt things once, before things changed. And for the first time…
I think there may be a way to change again…”

Show runs October 19 through October 28

Jonas is surrounded by a world without hurt or want, and his society is regulated for everyone’s good. Each member of society is presented with his or her own destiny at the proper age. When Jonas comes to age, he is given a special task from The Giver. He will help preserve his community’s memories- an honorable assignment. As he is mentored by The Giver, he begins to understand the world in a different light. The utopian society in which he lives is utterly flawed. Jonas will have to choose to accept the world as he knows it or determine his own fate.
