Find Family Tartan or Learn Irish Jig at Scottish, Irish Festival
VALLEY FORGE, Pa.- Bagpipers, step dancers and more will transform the Valley Forge Convention Center in King of Prussia, Pa., to a corner of the Emerald Isle and the Scottish Highlands during the 16th Annual Mid-Winter Scottish & Irish Music Festival and Fair Feb. 15-17.
The Celtic celebration will kick off Friday night, Feb. 15 with four of 18 musical acts, ranging from traditional to Celtic rock, which will appear throughout the weekend. The festivities continue Saturday and Sunday on four stages with musical and dance performances from around the world. Guitar players and fiddlers will hold jam sessions both days and invite the public to bring their own instruments and join in. In addition, more than 40 vendors will feature jewelry, clothing, crystal and other Celtic wares, and guests will be able to sample Irish and Scottish whiskey or wine, taste traditional fare or join a dance class. Many clans and fraternal organizations will be on hand to help attendees trace their heritage
The 16th Annual Mid-Winter Scottish & Irish Music Festival and Fair is presented by East of the Hebrides Entertainment. Tickets for the Friday night concert at 7 p.m. are $20. Admission for Saturday and Sunday is $25 per day and children 12 and under are admitted free.
