KING OF PRUSSIA, PA – The Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board (VFTCB) announced Friday that due to the rapidly evolving COVID-19 situation, the 15th Annual Valley Forge Revolutionary 5-Mile Run (Rev Run) scheduled for April 19, 2020, including the 3-Mile Walk and Young Patriots Run, at Valley Forge National Historical Park has been canceled.

Participants were notified on Friday that all proceeds will be returned to sponsors, and participants, minus the online processing fee.

“We know that this is a challenging time for everyone, and this news may be disappointing, but the resources needed to organize, and execute, this event with more than 2,000 participants would have become difficult to maintain while allowing for important modifications to accommodate crowd alleviation, and social distancing,” said Kirsten Tallman, Race Director. “Unfortunately, our organization would not have been able to put on the event that our registrants have become accustomed to, especially to celebrate such a significant milestone as the 15th anniversary. We appreciate the guidance we received from our local government, and emergency service officials in coming to this decision.”

The 15th anniversary of Rev Run will instead be celebrated on a date to be determined in 2021.

Organized by the VFTCB, the unique event raises funds to enhance the visitor experience at at Valley Forge National Historical Park. To date, the VFTCB has given back more than $450,000.

“We know that the community takes pride in this unique race, and we are so grateful for that because the event supports a national treasure, and one of the most important historic sites in Montgomery County, PA in Valley Forge National Historical Park,” Tallman said. “It is an honor, and a privilege to serve this special community, and park. Together, we make a difference, and we will move past this to continue to do so. We hope folks will still Conquer the Valley with us in 2021.”
