Make some new memories and go wild in Montco by getting up close and personal with some animals! Here, we’ve rounded up the best animal attractions in Montgomery County.
Elmwood Park Zoo, Norristown
At the Elmwood Park Zoo, you’ll find more than more than 100 animals from all over the world. See nature’s most amazing creatures at giraffe and bison feedings, or get a bird’s eye view of the zoo at the Treetop Adventure Park zip lining and ropes course. Elmwood Park Zoo is also a Certified Autism Center (CAC) and the first dog-friendly zoo in the country. Check out some of their events happening too.
John James Audubon Center at Mill Grove. Audubon
At the John James Audubon Center at Mill Grove you can see wildlife along the nature trails, or explore the museum’s exhibits focused on birds, art and conservation. Plus, during your visit, guests can interact with the resident birds of Mill Grove. All, except for one, have suffered a permanent injury that makes them unable to survive in the wild. So now, these birds have been trained to help educate the public on the issues facing birds today.
Upper Schuylkill Valley Park, Royersford
This hidden gem is a great place to see some wildlife. Check out the Park’s Wildlife Center where you can see foxes, deer, wolves, rabbits, a bald eagle, many varieties of owls, hawks, turkeys and an assortment of farm animals. Also check out the seasonal butterfly, plus turtles, frogs, fish, and more in the indoor space.
