Junior Inspector Program
Become a junior inspector! Stations scattered throughout the 17-acre zoo will provide information on how zoo animals live the 5-2-1-0 message, while also providing family-friendly strategies and activities to complete. Use your phone to scan the QR code at each station to participate in this completely free activity!
Percussion Garden
The Thomas Kimmel Percussion Garden is open daily for children to experience the beauty of music with giant chimes, drums, and bells.
Sloth Encounter
Meet Liana, the two-toed sloth that recently joined the Elmwood family! Learn about Liana, what she eats, and how to take care of her directly from her keepers.
Treetop Adventures
Ever wondered what the zoo looks like from a bird's view? Elmwood Zoo's Treetop Adventures allows guests to glide through the trees 50 feet up in the air! Not to mention, the adventure course has over 50 challenge games and ropes courses. Elmwood Zoo is the only place in PA that has ziplining over animal exhibits, so make sure you don't miss out!
Chinchilla Treatment
Had a rough day? Sign up for Chinchilla treatment to cuddle up, play with, and feed one of the zoo's fuzziest creatures. If you're lucky, you'll even get to help staff train the chinchillas!
Playtime with Penny
This brand-new experience allows guests to enter Penny the alligator's exhibit (behind a gate & from a safe distance) to learn more about the species and how the zoo takes care of her. Participants will choose which toy Penny gets to play with, before throwing it to her themselves!
Carousel Ride
Vintage-inspired, animal-themed, and ready for you to take a spin! Elmwood Park Zoo's carousel provides the perfect atmosphere for a day at the zoo, while also providing entertainment for the entire family.
Painting with a Hedgehog
Meet, play with, and even feed the zoo's family of hedgehogs! At the end of the session, you'll be able to watch one of the hedgehog's create a painting just for you to take home.
Zoo Brew Beer Garden & Bar
After a long day at the zoo, there's nothing better than sitting back to enjoy a cold beer or glass of wine. Visit the zoo's beer garden & bar at the end of the trip before the group retires for the day.
