THE CLOSEST SLOPES TO PHILLY

When the chill of winter is in the air, the slopes of Spring Mountain are filled with adventure seekers. Spring Mountain, the closest ski area to Philadelphia, offers eight slopes from easy beginner trails to the challenging Plummet, giving skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels a place to test their skills. For more family fun, try your hand at snowtubing and glide down the mountain.

Cross Country Skiing in Valley Forge Park

CROSS COUNTRY SKIING IN VALLEY FORGE

You can literally "ski Valley Forge" on cross-country skis, traversing the 3,500 acres of Valley Forge National Historical Park, where General Washington tempered the army that would claim victory in the Revolutionary War.

Green Lane Park, Lower Perkiomen Valley Park and Fort Washington State Park are also popular winter destinations for cross-country skiing.
