Dogs have been an integral part of life at The Highlands since it was built in 1794. Diaries document the presence of dogs in the mansion as companions as well as working dogs on the farm, and each had important roles. Visitors to The Highlands see how life was lived on a country estate from the late 18th century through the mid 20th century. This event, focusing on working dogs, will show how dogs supported families at The Highlands historically, as well as the many new and diverse roles dogs are trained to take on today.
