Historic Trappe will host the Landesbühnen Sachsen theater company from Germany for a limited run of English-language performances of the play In God’s Own Country. Focused on the life of Lutheran pastor Henry Muhlenberg, who immigrated to Trappe, Pennsylvania, in 1742, the play explores timeless issues faced by immigrants adapting to life in a new country. It will appeal to history buffs, German-Americans, Lutherans, music lovers, theater goers, and local community members alike. It will be performed in the historic Augustus Lutheran Church, a National Historic Landmark building erected in 1743. Sit in the church’s ancient wooden pews and be transported back in time for an unforgettable experience! Showtimes at 7 p.m. on Friday, October 27; 3 and 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 28; and 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 29.
