Morris Arboretum's new spring tour, Dogs and Barks, which showcases the Dogwood TREE and tree BARK, (not dogs with 4 legs) continues for two more Saturdays, June 9 and 23 at 11 a.m.
Celebrate 2018, the Chinese Year of the Dog as you discover dogwoods in many shapes and forms, and explore the artistry of tree barks. Several common and not-so-common dogwood species, and more than a dozen other trees with remarkable barks will be featured on the one hour tour. Knowledgeable guides will discuss many intricate tree barks, including beech, hickory, and paperback maple (Acer griseum, pictured here), and compare and contrast these to the noticeably different bark on dogwoods.
These tours start from the Widener Visitor Center, are included with garden admission and registration is not required.
