Combatting the Spotted Lanternfly

The Spotted Lanternfly is a significant threat to Pennsylvania’s trees. The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture and the Penn State Agricultural Extension need your help to combat this invasive insect—already found in Montgomery County! Sally Sue Richmond, Master Gardener and Senior Lecturer in Information Science at Penn State Great Valley in Malvern, PA, volunteers with an outreach mission from the Penn State Cooperative Extension to arm citizens with knowledge regarding this threat and share how they can help. She will be presenting her program at the park specifically aimed at what can be done in the fall as each season takes a different approach to eradication of the pest. Pre-registration is preferred; participants should meet at the Main Pavilion; event will be canceled if the weather is severe.

All ages but better suited for high school and older; suggested donation $2 per person.
