Valley Forge & Montgomery County
Feel the adrenaline rush at one of Montgomery County's two premier adventure courses.
The courses at Spring Mountain Adventures and Elmwood Park Zoo combine the thrill of ziplining with the challenge of an obstacle course for an adventure unlike any other.
ELMWOOD PARK ZOO
Treetop Adventures at Elmwood Park Zoo bring the thrill of ziplining to a truly unique location. The adventure courses take you high above the exhibits, over the bison and out into the woods.
The Cub Climb is built for the zoo's little adventurers. Children 36" to 60" tall can take this easy-going course through 20 games and two zips.
The Treetop Zoofari encompasses the full challenge of the adventure course. The Zoofari features 45 obstacles and nine zips, including two flights over the animal exhibits. Because of the challenging nature of the course, you must be at least 54" tall to attempt it.
In addition to the two full courses, Elmwood Park Zoo offers two partial tours: the Half-Course Tour is available after 4 p.m., while the Quick Zip takes you through three obstacles and three zips in quick succession.
There's also a Night Adventure, offered one weekend per month by reservation only. Take on the challenge of the Zoofari course beginning at 7 p.m. for these special events.
The Canopy Tours at Spring Mountain provide an adrenaline rush for all adventure seekers. Navigate a series of zip lines, rope bridges and challenges through the trees as you conquer the course.
Spring Mountain's zip lines can reach speeds of nearly 60 mph as you speed through the tree tops and down the mountain. "The Full Monty," Spring Mountain's full course takes 2-3 hours to complete and includes eight ziplines, four rope bridges and a series of rappels and climbs.
Groups of 20 or more can opt for the Easy Rider course, a series of four zips and one bridge that takes between 30 minutes to an hour to complete. The Easy Rider course is ideal for camps and school groups.
Reservations are required for all Canopy tours. Groups of 2 to 20 participants can be taken at a time and smaller groups may be combined during busy hours.
