MEDAL OF HONOR GROVE

Medal of Honor

The Medal of Honor Grove, located on the campus of the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge, is a 52-acre memorial to America's greatest heroes. More than 3,450 Medal of Honor recipients are honored, state-by-state. A statue of Abraham Lincoln beckons at the entrance.

American Treasure Tour

WHARTON ESCHERICK STUDIO

Wharton Esherick Studio

Wharton Esherick was one of the premier woodworkers of the 20th, and his greatest masterpiece of all may be his home studio in Malvern where the building itself is one of more than 300 works on display. The studio, open for tours by reservation, is just five miles from the park Visitor Center.

ARNOLD'S FAMILY FUN CENTER

Arnold's Family Fun Center

Arnold's Family Fun Center is an indoor playground for both children and adults. The complex includes five go-kart tracks to challenge drivers of all ages, a 20-lane bowling center, bumper cars, a grand carousel, more than 200 arcade games and so much more, all just minutes west of Valley Forge Park.

ELMWOOD PARK ZOO

Elmwood Park Zoo Bison Feeding

Get up close and personal with some of the world's most exotic animals at the Elmwood Park Zoo, located eight miles east of valley Forge. The giraffe-feeding deck is one of the zoo's most popular spots in summer, but you can also feed the bison, take a pony ride, hop on the carousel and much more.

JOHN JAMES AUDUBON CENTER AT MILL GROVE

Canoe Event

The first American home of artist and naturalist John James Audubon, Mill Grove is a great place to unplug. Take a guided canoe trip along the Perkiomen Creek, hike the nine miles of trails, and meet the resident screech owls, just five minutes north of the Visitor Center.

PORT PROVIDENCE PADDLE

Kayaks on the Schuylkill River

Take to the waters of the Schuylkill River for a memorable day of canoeing or kayaking with Port Providence Paddle. Trips range from a 2 1/2 loop to a six-hour journey to Valley Forge Park from the launch point four miles up river. River tubing is also available.

COLONIAL THEATER

Colonial Theatre

Phoenixville's historic Colonial Theatre has been showing movies since 1903, but is best known for its starring role in Steve McQueen's The Blob (1957). Today the theater continues to thrive, showing a mix of classic movies, art and independent films, and concerts. The Colonial is located just 15 minutes northwest of the park.
