KID-FRIENDLY MONTGOMERY COUNTY
Family Fun Destinations
Kid-friendly adventures are a must for anyone traveling with little ones in tow, whether you're visiting Valley Forge for a week or just passing through. Fortunately, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, offers tons of fun for kids of all ages and interests.
Older kids will appreciate the tight turns and speedy straightaways on the go-kart course at Arnold's Family Fun Center. This is a great place if the weather happens to be less than sunny, as it offers laser tag, bowling and dozens of video games, both current and retro.
In finding a destination that suits the whole family, it can be tough to find activities to engage the preschooler set. But we've got lots for tots: Elmwood Park Zoo may have turned 90 years old in 2014, but she's shows no signs of slowing down. The pathways are perfect for stroller traffic, and should your little one want to hop out, there are plenty of opportunities to get up close and personal with the animals.
Got teens? They can be rather uninvolved on family vacations, but Spring Mountain will surely gain their interest. In winter, it's got downhill trails, snowboarding and tubing. In spring and summer, they can traverse the trees on a set of thrilling and challenging ziplines.
If you want to incorporate learning into your leisure time, Valley Forge National Historical Park has a host of educational programming that involves kids on multiple levels. Have your young'uns help with ecological projects, celebrate Washington's birthday or even "join" the Continental Army.
