Begin your journey at the 3,600-acre Valley Forge National Historical Park, where General George Washington and his troops weathered the winter of 1777-1778 and emerged as an effective fighting force. Hear the story of an army’s epic struggle to survive against terrible odds, hunger and disease.

See the rows of cannon in Artillery Park, the soldiers’ log huts and Washington’s original stone headquarters. View numerous statues and monuments including, the Memorial Arch, statues of General “Mad Anthony” Wayne and Baron Friedrich von Steuben, and the Monument to Patriots of African Descent.

Stop in at the Welcome Center at Valley Forge to visit the gallery exhibits and browse the gift shop for one-of-a-kind souvenirs. Then end your day around a blazing campfire as park rangers tell you engaging tales of soldier life.

Soft Adventure Tour: Discover nature and the great outdoors! Explore the extensive trails at Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve. Embark on a tubing journey down the Delaware River with Bucks County River Country or go rafting with Delaware River Tubing Company.
