Soldiers, Sharks and Sesame Place Discovery Tour
(Recommended for grades 1-6)
Day One
Morning - Experience Breakfast with the Eagles at Elmwood Park Zoo, featuring North and South American wild animals in naturalistic settings.
Afternoon - Join living history demonstrations and reenactments at Valley Forge National Historical Park. Meet a step-on guide to tour the 3,600-acre encampment site where General George Washington forged his Continental Army into a fighting force, during the difficult winter encampment of 1777-78.
Lunch - Have lunch and take a tour of the Freedom’s Foundation, an educational organization dedicated to teaching about America and promoting responsible citizenship.
Late Afternoon - Take in a show at Renaissance Artist Puppet Company, quality theater for students and written on multiple levels for all ages to enjoy. Performances based on cultural, historical and educational subjects.
Day Two
Morning - Visit the Please Touch Museum, a children’s museum where learning is child’s play. It features nine interactive exhibits, daily programs and theater performances that provide students with the opportunity to play and learn together.
Lunch - Enjoy lunch at the historic Bourse Building before heading to your next stop.
Afternoon - Celebrate America's heritage of freedom at the National Liberty Museum. This museum honors more than 1,000 men, women and young people of all ethnic backgrounds. Includes exhibits, interactive displays, videos, and a unique collection of art.
Late Afternoon - Explore Adventure Aquarium, featuring Shark Realm, a West African River Experience with ”Buttons” the hippopotamus, a Jules Verne Gallery and a 4-D Theater.
Day Three
Morning - Spend the day at Sesame Place! Enjoy over three-dozen play activities featuring water attractions, live stage shows, musical parade and Sesame Street character greetings. Open seasonally May through October.
