Valley Forge was the site of the first public birthday celebration for George Washington, and the traditional of celebrating the General's birthday continues with a full day of family fun at Valley Forge National Historical Park.

Washington's Birthday - Martha Washington

What's a birthday party without cake? Martha Washington has made the General a birthday cake, and it's time to sing Happy Birthday. Cupcakes and samples of Martha's cake recipe will be served to all in attendence.

Join the Continental Army

Kids can muster and learn to drill like the soldiers at Valley Forge during the Join the Continental Army program. General George Washington, himself, will inspect the troops.

Meeting Room

Before you sing Happy Birthday, create your own birthday card for General Washington. Other activities include making a tricorn hat, playing 18th century games and learning how to weave.

BIRTHDAY ACTIVITIES
10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Visitor Center

The highlight of the day for any child is to meet George Washington. George and Martha will be in the Visitor Center greeting everyone until 2 p.m. Children and adults also have a chance to dress in 18th century clothing.
