Colebrookdale Railroad takes a multi-day approach to its 2015 send-off. The train's Snowflake Special (1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.) runs December 26-30, and is a great way for friends and family to link arms and hum a few bars of Auld Lang Syne.

765 North Lewis Road
Limerick, PA 19468

Creekside Sports Bar

A "Shot of Southern" at Creekside Sports Bar (at Landis Creek Golf Club) isn't a drink but a five-piece modern country cover band. Before they get the place dancing, a DJ kicks things off at the open bar, which starts at 9 p.m. Just prior to midnight, the big countdown begins, and champagne toast sets the confetti flying.

Painting with a Twist Snowman

Get your New Year off to an artistic start with the 10:30 a.m. class at Painting with a Twist. The subject - perfect for adults and kids older than six - is a festive snowman whose swirly body and dapper hat is set against a background of a starlit winter night. Beverages and snacks are, as usual, bring-your-own, so youngsters can enjoy a sip of ginger ale while adults sample something else that's appropriately bubbly.

50 Sunnybrook Road
Pottstown, PA 19464

The New Year's Eve gala at Sunnybrook Ballroom is a customizable party that fits individual preferences for celebrating 2016. New Year's at the Water Tower is the chance to play like a kid and then party like and adult. The $85 ticket, thanks to sharing space with Arnold's Family Fun Center, includes access to go karts, laser tag, unlimited bowling and the arcade. At 9 p.m., the music responsibilities are handed over to The Sofa Kings a high-energy 10-piece band from Valley Forge that specializes in upbeat rock and roll and R&B. End the evening safely with a $99 hotel package from the nearby Hilton Garden Inn, walkable from the Water Tower.

The morning of January 31 at Ardmore Music Hall is geared toward younger revelers, with a 10:30 a.m. Family Jam. The New Year's Eve Extravaganza takes over for the adults at 8:30 p.m. with PhillyBloco. This 23-piece ensemble blends the beats of Brazilian, Samba, Funk, Reggae and a host of other music influences from around the world.

Registration info is here.
