Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board Invites Wintertime Visitors to Get Away and "Make It Montco"

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. - Using a multifaceted marketing campaign, the Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board (VFTCB) reminds visitors that winter is a great time to explore Montgomery County, Pa.

The campaign includes an expansive media reach, with invitations to get away to Montgomery County this winter. Components include radio and television spots, billboards, imagery on SEPTA regional rail lines, digital ads and wraps on The Connector (the King of Prussia commuter shuttle). The VFTCB is also supporting the effort through its social media channels, website and blog.

"As a year-round destination, we have a lot to offer in the winter. Outdoors, we have skiing, sledding, ice fishing and snowboarding. Inside, our museums, galleries, theaters and concert venues are very active," says Bill Fitzgerald, President of the VFTCB.

Website landing pages have been established for visitors to discover both indoor and outdoor recommendations of things to do.

At the end of a day's adventure, the VFTCB invites visitors to check into an area hotel, inn or B&B, where extras such as a free dessert or appetizer provide extra incentives. The Board is supplying a welcome gift of a box of chocolates, designed to appeal to couples looking for a romantic adventure, especially for Valentine's Day. An arrangement with Zipcar is also part of the package, providing a voucher for travelers who use the popular subscription transportation service for a future ride.

The VFTCB has collected all the details about each hotel's specific package and put them together on their website.

The details of the county's wintertime possibilities were announced at a January 15, 2015, event at Valley Forge National Historical Park, where Fitzgerald also unveiled bold, new branding within the Visitor Center. The enhancement positions the space as a source of information on all that Montgomery County has to offer, from dining to shopping to family fun. The VFTCB also supplied information on the 10th anniversary of its Valley Forge 5-Mile Revolutionary Run®, scheduled for April 19, 2015.

Fitzgerald concludes: "We are excited about all the unique getaways that are possible here, especially in winter. We also want to remind people to continue to use the Make It Montco hashtag, sharing their stories, pictures and updates. We look forward to the Montgomery County story continuing to unfold in interesting and engaging ways."

Full information on the VFTCB Rev Run (five mile run, one mile walk, 1.776-km Junior Patriot Run for children, sponsorships and volunteer opportunities) can be found at valleyforge.org/revolutionary-run.
