Valley Forge Convention and Visitors Bureau
Names New Chairman 

KING OF PRUSSIA, PA - Michael Bowman, President and CEO of the Valley Forge Casino Resort, has been named the 2014 Chairman of the Valley Forge Convention and Visitors Bureau, the tourism marketing organization of Montgomery County, Pa.

In what is expected to be a pivotal year for the destination marketing organization, Bowman's two-year term will have him providing steady input and guidance as the bureau undertakes a significant rebranding effort.

"I'm humbled to receive the opportunity to lead this great team as we create an even brighter future for the Valley Forge and Montgomery County area," Bowman says. "As the hospitality industry strengthens, our support of tourism increases in importance, bringing jobs and a greater economic impact. The CVB's role in sparking interest in our attractions, events, hotels and restaurants is crucial to the ongoing financial health of all of Montgomery County. I look forward to working toward the success of this important goal."

Assisting Bowman and the bureau as the 2014 slate of executive officers are:

  • Michael S. Rodden, Vice Chairman. Rodden is General Manager of the Philadelphia Marriott West in West Conshohocken.
  • Nancy Dunleavy, Treasurer. Dunleavy is President and CEO of Dunleavy & Associates, Inc., a Blue Bell-based firm committed to assisting nonprofit organizations.
  • Daria Fink, Secretary. Fink is President of The Encampment Store, the nonprofit partner of Valley Forge National Historical Park.

Bureau president Bill Fitzgerald comments: "This is a terrific group of people whose enthusiasm and support have been critical to our success. Together, we will make 2014 a landmark year."

The Valley Forge Convention and Visitors Bureau, Ltd. is a nonprofit, membership-based sales and marketing organization that actively promotes the Valley Forge area and Montgomery County as a convention site and leisure visitor destination by encouraging patronage of its 300-plus member hotels, restaurants, attractions and services. The Bureau's website serves visitors, meeting planners, tour operators and residents, as well as hosting The Pursuit, a twice-weekly blog.
